Project Eighty

Whoo Hoo Number 80!

OK so Welcome Back!
I am in love with Peachy Keen Stamps.
I have a few favorites and they are at my top. It also helps that I finally learned how to use my Copic Markers. I have always just used them to color basic coloring. I never realized the whole blending thing. SO I am learning.

SO I am doing a card for Peachy Keen's May Linky Party. You have to use stamps from the May release. I joined the Stamp of the Month Club, I love it. This month is a lot of camping and Smores which I love, but two phrases caught my eye. Burnt and around the edges. I am totally Irish, which means I don't tan, I burn. So this is what I came up with.

Card Base
Size 5.5 x 5.5 square Red Rose from Stampin Up
Cloud paper if from Echo Park and cut at 5.25 x 5.25
Brown is a scrap piece forgive me.
I then took my Stampin Up Chocolate Chip ink and sponged the brown to give a sand appearance.

Phrase

Girl
Cricut Cartridge Everyday Paper Dolls
     Cut at 3.5 inches
Body is Vanilla Cream from Micheals Recollection
Bathing Suit is DCWV and the bow and shoes is the reverse side of the DCWV paper
Stamped with Stampin Up Chocolate Chip ink.
I then used my white gel pen and red pencil to highlight the eyes and mouth.
Tan was created using a brush and Stampin Up Real Red ink.
Extras are rhinestones from my stash

Sun
Cricut Cartridge Classroom April and May
     cut at 1.5 inches.
I just used yellow scrap paper and sponges Real Red ink on it.

This is me .... burnt around the edges!

Project Seventy-six

Good Morning!

Yesterday the girls and I spent our last day the Walt Disney Worlds, Epcot's 21st Annual Flower and Garden Festival. Today is the official last day, but I am so tired we are not going. It was a fabulous time this year. We meet some incredible people and learned so much.

For those who don't know, in the Spring time, Disney horticulturist come out and show off all that they know and share this information with anyone wanting to learn. There is a festival center that offers two lectures twice a day. One with hands on planting. I home school my kids so each day of the festival, OK we may have missed maybe 7 days all together....shhhh don't tell. We would get to the center at 9 am to get in line to attend the planting class. The center would open at 10 so we would make our way into the center to get in the official line. The event is run my the actual horticulturist from Walt Disney World. On the weekdays, the classes were taught by them. On weekend, there might be a "bigger" name person. Now the 2nd talk for the day was always about plants or animals we need to continue gardening.

So the festival runs from March 5th to May 18. We were there a lot. The great thing about that is people remember seeing the same 5 kids everyday. Oh, my girls BFF's are also homeschooled, so it my 3 girls, their 2 BFFs, their mom and myself. Well there are also special "characters" for the festival. We meet two that the kids fell in love with. We would stop and see them almost every day they were out. Their names were Mother Nature and Rose Petal. So with the festival ending the kids wanted to say Thank You for all the attention. So they asked me to make cards for them and a few other special friends. So this is the card I made for our friend, Mother Nature.

Mother Nature had butterflies all over her dress!

Project Seventy-five

Welcome to My Mouse Dreams!

Today's project is a challenge that I stumbled across. I have been working on getting out of my craft funk that I have been in. So working on challenges has been my "push" to craft more.

I recently starting found Copic Marker tutorials on You Tube and I am loving these markers. I actually owned a few, but never understood how to use them or that the numbers and letters had meaning. So I am ordering a few more and hope to really start working on my stamping and coloring techniques.

OK so for today's challenge, it is sponsored by Bitten by the Bug 2.
The challenge was to create anything with a school theme. For example school concerts or thank you cards that most people are giving to their children's teacher right now. OH NO! I actually home school my kids. So it did say it could be field trip related and I came up with a great card. My family saw it and say "MOM" that really doesn't "fit" in the school theme. So I created this cute little Thank You card.

OK so lets break this card down

Base
Red is Real Red from Stampin Up 4.25 x 5.5 inches
The pattern Paper is from DaisyD's cut at 4 x 5.25 inches

Blue Circle Background
from Stretch Your Imagination
cut at size 4 x 5.25 inches

I then took the piece and ran it through my Cuttlebug
using a 5x7 folder Polka Dot
To ensure the entire blue piece stuck to the pattern piece
I ran it through my Zyron Sticker Maker
worked wonderfully.

Apple
it is from the Create a Critter Cartridge
cut at 3 inches.
The dark blue shadow and brown base are scrap pieces I had laying around.
The green leaves are from a 4x6 mat pad I had from K & Company, the Ocean Solid Pad.
I used Stampin Up Old Olive to ink the sides of the leaves.
The red is a scrap of old Stampin Up Christmas pack of paper from years ago.
I then stamped the cute face from Peachy Keen Everyday Faces Assortment.
I used the largest face in this assortment with Memento Black Ink.
I colored the eyes with my white gel pen, then added a layer of Glossy Accents.
I added some pink stickles to the cheeks.

Tag
paper is another scrap I had from Stampin Up.
The sentiment is from Peachy Keen's Stamp of the Month Club February 2014
the ink is also Memento Black. I used the same old olive ink around the edges
the tag is from Cricut Cartridge Girls Make Up Party

Project Seventy-four

Welcome Back!

I am getting my craft groove on, it's about time!

So I was inspired with Peachy Keens Stamps sketch challenge I thought I would try another sketch challenge. This time I am entering DCWV May card sketch challenge.
I just love their papers, but I find myself loving them and not wanting to use them. Which means yes, I am a paper hoarder and I can't help it.

So here is the sketch.

Ok so here is my take on it.

The main thing is to use DCWV papers. So I pulled out my DCWV Summer Dream Stack. I just love all the colors in it. Almost hated to use it, but I must start using some of the paper I have.

So the only paper not from this pack the textured red that is from a 4x4 stack of Textured DCWV pack.

So the other things not from DCWV are the cute denim brads that I bough ions ago and I wished I could remember because they are super cute.

The sentiment stamp is from Peachy Keens February Stamp of the Month club
I used Memento black ink for the sentiment
I also inked the edge of the middle piece using Stampin Up's Marina Mist.
I then used my black and white gel pens for the dots.

Thanks for popping in
Have a Magical Day!

Project Seventy-three

Welcome!

So I have been really playing with my Copic Markers this past few weeks. I think I may have actually started to understand how to use them. So hopefully soon, I will feel like I really love something I have colored and you will see some of the great Peachy Keen Stamps I have been getting.

Speaking of Peachy Keen Stamps they are having a sketch challenge right now. I love a fun challenge! I am never 100% sure of my ideas, but I have to keep trying. So on to the challenge.
Here is the sketch we were to follow.

So here is what I came up with!

Paper
Stampin Up Not Quite Navy base
Then the rest are all from DCWV Linen Collection.
The first layer was cut at 5.25 x 4 inches
The little squares are at 1.5 x 1 inches
The pattern Strip is at 5.25 x 1.25 inches
The beige is a scrap I had.

I used the stamp "enjoy" from Peachy Keen's January 2014 Stamp of the Month Club

The Mice
Cricut Meow Cartridge cut at 1 inches each
pink and gray scraps
the ear piece is a scrap of gray pattern paper from Stampin Up
The eye is from Peachy Keen's April 2014 Stamp of the Month kit
I used Memento Ink, my white gel pen and a blue Stampin Up pencil.
I then used Glossy Accents over the eye, the pink of the ears and on the tail to set
it apart.

The Cat
Cut from the same Meow Cricut Cartridge at 2.5 inches
the background piece is from the same DCWV paper pack Linen Closet.
Then I used Stampin Up Basic Black, Very Vanilla and DCWV textured Brow
I cut the same cat 3 times and hand cut each piece to make the kitty multi-colored.
I got her face from Peachy Keen's March 2014 Stamp of the Month kit.
I colored in her eyes with my white gel pen, for her mouth and nose I used my colored pencils from Stampin Up.
I then added Glossy Accents to her eyes and nose.

Thank you again for stopping by
